Mother's Day

Here some pictures from Mother's Day. I keep going back to look at them because Bre looks so grow up in some of these pictures!

This is the best picture we have taken together in months!

What a big girl!
Is she 15 months or 3 years?

Not too bad for taking the picture ourselves!

Max's 31st Birthday

May 9th was Max's 31st birthday. I had a surprise party planned for him on Saturday (5/10), so to throw him off, we had a family dinner (minus Keilah, because she had to work :( we missed her). Max's mom brought over dinner and I made Max birthday brownies. Breanna helped Daddy blow out his candles. She also got to experience her first taste of corn-on-the cob, and with only 2 teeth! She went to town on that corn. She spent at least 10-15 minutes chewing and sucking on that cob. It was quite an experience. It reminded me of her cousin Aubrie. We have a picture of her at about Breanna's age eating corn-on-the-cob (it was her favorite) so I had to take one of Bre too!

This corn is yummy!!!!

Great-Grandma Flo

Max's mom flew in his grandmother to town the first weekend in May to surprise him and his brother and sister. It was a great surprise! Grandma Flo is such an encouragement to Max. He loves that lady so much. She couldn't have come at a better time. Max received some difficult news at work, but she helped him see the positives that could come from it and gave him the encouragement he needed. She is such a beautiful, intelligent, and strong woman. We are all truly blessed to have her in our lives!

Mayfest

We went to Mayfest the first Saturday of May (May 3rd) in Fort Worth. This was the first year that I have been to Mayfest, but Max went several times when he was a child. Mayfest is a big festival that Fort Worth puts on every year on the banks of the Trinity River. It is kind of like a mini State Fair. Anyway, we had a lot of fun. We got there at about 10:30-11am and stayed until about 2pm. That was about all the fun Bre could handle! We watched a Jet Ski show, a Diving Show, had funnel cake, played on the played ground, went fishing, and checked out all the really cool stuff we will get to do when Bre gets a little older! We decided that we are going to try and make this a family tradition! Here are some pics from the festivities:

Fishing for catfish (sorry, Papa, no bass!).
Bre's first test drive of a BMW...I know, she's starting a little early!

Bre checking out the Mini Cooper convertible.

Having fun in the tree!

Long time...

Okay, so I know it has been awhile since I posted anything new. Sorry about that. Life has gotten crazy! Breanna is so active now, that once I get her to bed at night, I am exhausted!!! I have lots to post about (Mayfest, Max's birthday, new cute pics, etc...). I promise I will get on that this week!

On another note, Max had a wonderful birthday surprise this past week (his birthday was May 9th). He found out he passed his principal exam!!!! YEAH!! What an accomplishment! God is so GOOD! This will open up great doors of opportunity for him and I am so excited. I am so proud of him. He has worked so hard over the past year, both at work and in this class he has been taken to prepare him to be a principal. He sets his mind on a goal and he becomes determined. He is a fighter, and I love that about him. He has met many obstacles this year, but he has not let one of them get him down. Many people have tried to hurt him, tear him down, and destroy him over the past 6 or 7 months, but he keeps shaking them off. He does let them phase him.

Max, I am so proud of you. You are so encouraging to me. You have studied for this test so hard everyday and you deserve every reward that is coming to you. Let the haters hate, because they aren't going anywhere. They will stay right where they are, while you keep moving up and become more successful!! You are better than them, and you have proven that, time and time again. They know it, that is why they have tried to break you. But you are too strong. Those that have done wrong to you (whether to your face or behind your back, will have it returned to them in some way or another somewhere down the road). We just have to keep fighting the good fight! I love you baby, and keep up the good work! Sam Houston Football may not regret having lost you as a coach right now, but come September/October, they are going to wish they had you on their staff!

15 Months

Breanna turned 15 months old on Friday. I can hardly believe it! She had her 15 month check-up with the pediatrician and here are her stats:
Weight: 27.6 lbs
Height: 32 in
Head: 19 in
She's a growing girl! The doctor said she looked good. She did have a little bit of a viral infection in her throat, but the dr said that would all clear within a couple of days. She had a little bit of fear due to the virus, but she handled it all very well. She has been sick quite a bit lately, hopefully we are just getting it all out of our system! The doctor said she wasn't worried about Breanna and she is very healthy. Since Breanna was almost 14 months old she has had her first 2 ear infections, almost had pneumonia, and then the virus in her throat. The pneumonia bit was quite a scare, but it turned out just to be a viral infection in her lungs. The doctor said if we would have waited to bring her in any longer it would have turned into pneumonia, but we caught it early. We got to take her to the hospital for ex-rays of her lungs and got to buy a breathing machine during the whole process. FUN, FUN! I was so thankful that it wasn't pneumonia.
At 15 months, Bre is a ball of energy. She doesn't sit still longer than 15 seconds (unless Sesame Street is on) and she LOVES to be outside. She is quite the explorer and enjoys causing mischief. Her vocabulary is increasing everyday. She says: momma, dada, nana, papa, bubb bubbl (bubbles), all gone, all done, bye bye, nye nye (night night), yes, and woof woof. She makes attempts at many other words, but that is her vocabulary for the most part.
Breanna definitely keeps us on our toes and life is more interesting with her in it!

More noteworthy pics

Here are some more pics I wanted to share because they are just so darn cute!
Bre loves to read books! On this day I found her with books all around her and she was occupied with reading for at least 30 minutes. She is constantly bringing me and Max books to read. Her favorite book is a Dora the Explorer book.
Max and Bre before church. I'm so lucky to have such a handsome husband and beautiful daughter!
How cute is she!!! I love this dress on Bre!
