We had Bre's first birthday party this past Saturday (January 19th, one day after her actual birthday). We had a family and a few friends over for a small party to celebrate Bre's first year! It was a great time and Bre soaked up all the attention. I was so excited because we had a small cake just for Bre to dig into and have fun with. Well, up to this point, she has never had any sweets, except for fruit and a few bites of ice cream. So this was her first "sweet." I thought for sure she would tear into the cake and have cake and icing all over her face, in her hair, etc. However, that was not the case. Breanna was the cleanest 1 year old with cake you have ever seen. She grabbed one fist full (with help from mommy) and that was it. After that all she wanted was a drink and to get all the "stuff" off over her hands. (She hates to have messy hands. When she gets anything on her hands she is generally trying to figure out how to get it off.) Could this mean my child is going to be a neat freak??? I was a little disappointed that she didn't have more fun with the cake, but I guess I should be happy that she prefers veggies and fruit to cake and desserts (except of course, ice cream, that she would never ever turn down)! Here are a few pics from the party:

"Ooooh, what's inside here?"
"Wow, my first boombox!"
"Okay, how do I get this stuff off my hands?"
"Wow! That stuff is sweet!"
"Ahhhhhh!"
