Okay, so I know this is a little late, but we have been super busy this holiday season!! We spent Christmas day here at home. In the morning we had our first family Christmas (just the four of us--me, Max, Breanna, and Sadie). This was Bre's first experience with presents. She didn't quite understand the concept at first, but caught on quickly. After about 3 or 4 presents, she had had enough and just wanted to play! After we finished up, we put Bre down for a nap and got the house ready for round 2 later in the afternoon. Max's family all came over in the afternoon for the Smith/Fraction family Christmas. It is so nice to be able to have Max's whole family get together to celebrate the holidays. Bre loves both her Papa, Aunt, Uncle, and both her Nana's! We all had a great time and Bre really got into the presents during this go round! One of her presents was a pair of shoes in a plastic bag with a handle. I have to say that was the highlight of the evening. She carried that bag around for the rest of the day like it was her little purse.
The next day I was back to work (yuck!) and Max got to relax and enjoy his vacation! On Thursday evening we packed up the car and head off to Missouri to see my family. We usually celebrate Christmas at my parent's house, but this year we decided to have it at my brother's house in Independence, MO. This was my first time getting to see my brother's new house and it was beautiful!!! He and his family are truly blessed! Our visit was wonderful. We had so much fun! Bre loved spending time with her cousins, Aubrie and Taylor. We spent most of our time going to my niece's basketball games (which I thought was awesome!). Aubrie had 3 games and Taylor had 1 while we were there. It made me miss playing so much. Aubrie seemed so proud to have her Aunt Mandy there cheering her on! She did so good! I am so proud of her!!! I think she is going to be really good when she gets older! Taylor is much taller than any of the other players her age and she is very athletic. She's not too bad for a 2nd grader!
On Sunday, we headed south to my parent's house and spent the night there before trekking it back to Texas on Monday. We arrived back in Texas around 9pm! Overall, Bre did wonderful in the car (both ways). She was ready to be home and seemed happy to see her room and all her toys. We spent New Year's Day recovering from the festivities and enjoying all the blessings we received over Christmas. Now we are all back into the swing of things...work, school, wrestling, and daycare. Life is good and we are truly blessed! We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday, and that through all the hustle and bustle, you remembered what the true celebration was for.....the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! He is the true reason for the season!
