Happy 1st Birthday Bre!

Wow! I can't believe my little angel is a year old today. Today comes with mixed feelings on my part. On one hand I am so proud of my little girl and excited for all the new things she is discovering and learning. On the other hand, I am sad to see that my baby is isn't going to be a "baby" much longer. She is getting so big and growing up so fast. This past year has been one heck of a ride and I wouldn't change a minute of it! Breanna has been the best thing that has ever happened to our little family up to this point. She is the light of our lives. Her smile and giggle can light up a room. She has become so independent in the past month or so. I cherish each moment she allows me to cuddle with her and love on her.

We went to the doctor today for Bre's 1 year check-up. She weighs 25 lbs, 6oz (90%) and was 30.5 inches tall (90%). She took her shots like a champ. Barely even cried! What a brave little girl I have.

Here are some of Bre's "FIRSTS" over the past year:
Smile: 6 weeks ( the real smile, not gas!)
Slept through the night: 8 weeks (6 hours)
Laughed: 11 weeks
Held a bottle: 4 months
Rolled over: 4 months
Sat unsupported: 5 months
Crawled: 7 months (army), 9 months (all four's)
Stood up: 7 months
Took first step with help: 7 months
Took first step alone: 10 months
Waved "bye-bye": 6 months
Said "mama": 7 months
Said "dada": 5 months
Walked: 10 months
Held a cup: 8 months
Ate solid foods: 4 months

So this has been a year of discovery (for all of us!). Bre is learning about the world and discovering all new things. Max and I are learning that parenting is not an easy job. It takes patience, lots of love, communication, understanding, the ability to know when to ask for help, the knowledge that there aren't always answers to your questions and sometimes you just have to go with your gut, time management, and most importantly faith that God has prepared you for the task ahead. We look forward to the next year of Bre's life and all that it has in store for our family!
